From the reel: AI is worth $136k a year, says the Tech Council
3 AI jobs to try this week, and the one line that makes them better
Three boring jobs to hand to AI, with a prompt for each. You check it, you send it. Plus the one line to add to every request.
The one line
"Here's one I wrote before. Match this style."
Paste a past email, quote or roster you were happy with, then ask. The AI copies your tone, layout and the way you price, instead of guessing.
The 3 jobs
1. First drafts of emails and quotes
"Write a reply to this customer email. Keep it short and friendly. Here's one I wrote before, match this style:" then paste both. Read it, fix it, send it.
2. Meeting notes and to-do lists
Paste your rough notes or a voice memo transcript and ask: "Turn this into a short summary and a to-do list with who does what by when."
3. Next week's roster
"Here's who is available and the hours we need covered. Draft next week's roster. Here's last week's, match the layout." Then fix the gaps yourself.
Keep it safe
Leave private details out
Don't paste passwords, bank details or customers' private information into a free AI tool. Use first names or "the customer".
You're still the one who sends it
AI drafts. You check the facts, the prices and the tone before anything goes out.
The Tech Council of Australia estimates going from no AI to using it right across an average small business could be worth about $136,000 a year. That's their estimate.
