SEO Strategy and Search Optimisation

Search is the one channel where the traffic compounds instead of stopping when you stop paying. We do the technical work, build the pages that match what people actually search, and report against enquiries rather than rank screenshots.

SEO gets a bad reputation because it is easy to sell and hard to verify. Our answer is to make the work legible: you see the audit, you see the page plan, you see what shipped, and you see the Search Console data that says whether it worked.

The order matters. Technical problems first, because content on a site Google struggles to crawl is wasted effort. Then structure, so each service and each location has a page capable of ranking. Then content and authority, which is the slow compounding part.

For local service businesses, the majority of the win is usually in the first two stages, and it is frequently available within weeks rather than months.

What is included

Technical audit and fixes

Crawlability, indexation, site speed and Core Web Vitals, redirects, canonicals, duplicate content and mobile usability, with the fixes actually implemented.

Keyword and intent research

The searches your buyers use, grouped by intent, with an honest read on which are winnable and which are not worth chasing.

Site structure and page plan

A page per service and per location that deserves one, with internal linking that passes authority where you want it.

On-page optimisation

Titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, internal links, image handling and structured data across the site.

Local SEO

Google Business Profile optimisation, service area and category setup, citation consistency, review strategy and LocalBusiness schema.

Content and authority

Content that answers real questions, plus genuine, relevant links. No purchased link schemes.

Reporting

Monthly reporting on impressions, clicks, positions and conversions from organic, with what we changed and what we will change next.

How we work

  1. 01

    Audit

Full technical crawl, Search Console and analytics review, and a competitor comparison for the searches that matter.

  2. 02

    Fix the foundation

Indexation, speed and structure. Unglamorous, and frequently the reason a site has never ranked.

  3. 03

    Build the pages

Service and location pages written with genuine detail, because near-duplicate pages do not rank and do not convert.

  4. 04

    Earn and measure

Ongoing content, links and reviews, reported monthly against organic enquiries.

What we have done

For a mobile auto electrical business covering Canberra and the South Coast we paired a bespoke website with a Canberra-focused search strategy: keyword-targeted service pages, Search Console indexing, local SEO and authority building. The case study sets out what was done and why.

Things we will not do

  • Buy links from networks that put your domain at risk
  • Publish near-identical location pages with the suburb swapped out
  • Report on rankings for searches nobody performs
  • Lock you into a contract where leaving means losing your own data or content

A warning worth repeating

If you password-gate a live domain during a rebuild, Google will index the gate screen. We have watched a real site end up ranking for a Coming Soon page because of exactly that. Gate a staging subdomain instead, and keep the live domain crawlable.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee rankings?

No, and neither can anyone else honestly. We commit to the work, the reporting and the measurement, and we report the outcome whether it is good or bad.

Is local SEO different?

Yes. Proximity, your Google Business Profile, categories, reviews and citation consistency carry weight that they do not in national search. For a service business in Canberra, that profile is often the highest-return asset you own.

Can you work on a site you did not build?

Yes. We work on WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Webflow and custom builds. The audit tells us what the platform will and will not let us fix.

What do you report on?

Impressions, clicks and average position from Search Console, organic conversions from analytics, and a plain-language note on what changed and what is next.

Do we need new content every month?

Not always. For many local businesses, a strong set of service and location pages plus a well-run Google Business Profile beats a monthly blog nobody reads.
