Web design for tradies in Canberra

A tradie’s website has one job: turn a search made on a phone into a call or a quote request. Everything on this page, from the tap-to-call bar to the suburb pages and the photo-upload quote form, is there because it does that job. No templates, no monthly fees, and the sites we have built for trades are in the case studies.

From $120 per hour. Fixed quote before any project starts.

Most trade enquiries start the same way: someone on a phone types the service and a suburb, taps the first result that looks real, and either calls or fills in a form. If your site is slow, the number is not at the top, or the page does not say you cover Gungahlin, they go back and tap the next one.

We have built sites for an air-conditioning business, a mobile auto electrician and a trailer manufacturer, and each one was designed around that moment. Where the number sits, how fast the page opens on mobile data, how quickly a visitor can tell you work in their suburb, and what the quote form asks for.

Trade sites also have a specific search problem. "Electrician Belconnen" and "electrician Tuggeranong" are different searches, and a single Services page does not rank for either. The answer is a service page per trade and a sensible set of area pages, written properly, not a hundred near-identical suburb pages that Google ignores.

The business model matters as much as the design. Trades get sold monthly website plans at a few hundred dollars a month for the life of the site. Ours are built so that after launch you pay the domain and hosting that is free to a few dollars a month, and you edit your own prices and photos. The air-conditioning site in our case studies has run that way since launch.

What is included

Tap-to-call on every page

A fixed call bar on mobile, the number in the header on desktop, and call clicks tracked as conversions so you know which pages produce work.

Service and area pages that rank

One strong page per trade service, plus area pages for the suburbs you really cover, written so they rank for "service + suburb" searches.

Quote form with photo upload

Customers photograph the switchboard, the unit or the damage and send it with the request, so you quote from the photo instead of driving out. Built for the air-conditioning site; it works for any trade.

Reviews pulled in live

Your Google reviews shown on the site straight from your Business Profile, so the proof is current without you copying anything.

Photos of real jobs

Your vans, your team and your finished work, not stock photos of a smiling model with a spanner. If you do not have photos, we say so early and quote a shoot.

No monthly fee

Statically rendered, nothing to patch, hosting free to a few dollars a month. You edit prices, photos and pages yourself.

How we work

  1. 01

    Discovery

How jobs come in now, which suburbs you work, what a good job looks like and what you want fewer of. Half an hour, usually on site.

  2. 02

    Pages and suburbs

The service pages and area pages agreed on paper first, with the searches each one is built for.

  3. 03

    Design and build

Designed in the browser and tested on real phones, because that is where your customers are.

  4. 04

    Launch and track

Google Business Profile aligned, Search Console and analytics live, calls and forms tracked, then a month of indexing checks.

Trades we build for

The structure is the same across trades; the pages, the photos and the quote form change.

  • Electricians and auto electricians
  • Plumbers, gasfitters and drainers
  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Glaziers and glass repair
  • Builders, carpenters and renovators
  • Landscapers, fencing and concreting
  • Mechanics, trailer and automotive workshops
  • Painters, plasterers, tilers and roofers

What we have built for trades

An air-conditioning business in Canberra: a bespoke site with a self-managed editor, quote requests with customer photo uploads, one upfront build cost and no monthly management fee.

A mobile auto electrician working Canberra and the South Coast: a bespoke site with keyword-targeted service pages, Search Console setup and Google reviews pulled in live, with the SEO effort concentrated on Canberra where the work is.

A Queanbeyan trailer manufacturer trading since 1984: rebuilt off a subscription platform onto a site they own, every ranking URL carried across, and a 3D trailer builder. Seven weeks into SEO, enquiries went from about 8 a month to 20.

Google Business Profile is half the job

For a trade, the map results above the normal listings get most of the taps. Those are decided by your Business Profile: the right primary category, a verified address even if you hide it and set a service area, reviews, and a site that tells Google the same story. We set that up as part of every trade build rather than leaving it to you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a tradie website cost?

Work is charged from $120 per hour with a fixed quote after a free discovery call. A brochure site with your photos supplied is typically $3,600 to $6,000 (estimate); a recent eight-page mobile tidy-up was $1,200 fixed. See the website cost guide for the detail.

Do I need a page for every suburb?

No. You need one good page per service and area pages for the suburbs where you really work and have jobs to show. A hundred copied suburb pages is what Google calls doorway pages and none of them rank.

Can customers send photos with a quote request?

Yes. The quote form accepts photos from the phone camera and sends them with the request, so you can quote from the photo instead of driving out to look.

Will I have to pay a monthly fee?

No. After launch you pay the domain renewal and hosting that is free to a few dollars a month. You edit your own prices and photos. If you want us on call for changes we quote that separately and you can stop it any time.

I am on a template site now. Will I lose my rankings if I move?

Not if the move is done properly. We map every existing URL to its replacement, keep the headings that earn traffic, redirect on cutover day and watch Search Console for the first month.

Can you sort out my Google Business Profile too?

Yes. Category, service area, address verification, services list and getting your reviews onto the site are part of a trade build.

How much does it cost?

Work is charged from $120 per hour. For a defined project we estimate the hours after a free discovery call and give you a fixed quote, so you know the total before anything starts.
